That’s a whole lotta M’s in the title isn’t it? I debated about posting this one or not. On the one hand I loved the colour and on the other hand I hated the formula. I decided to post it anyway as I am concious that most of my nail posts consist of OPI. What can I say – OPI is my favourite. OPI this was not. What really attracted me to buy this and another from the range last spring was the scratch and sniff sticker on the lid. Oh the little things! As a child, I had 4 glitter polishes from Avon Color Trend which were scented and that is kinda what this reminded me of. The post is short and sweet tonight as I am pretty busy at work due to moving department next week, but as I say every week: a picture says 1000 words. Also I am struggling with this digital camera a little – it isn’t a new one, I inherited it from my dad. I just can’t seem to get the settings right for nails. The macro setting is awesome for close up of packaging, but it struggles to focus when there isn’t writing e.g nail or lipstick shots. I guess I just need more practice. Either that or I bite the bullet and buy a Canon 600D πŸ™‚

I picked this up towards the end of spring last year along with the Blueberry Muffin version in Boots on a 2 for 1 offer. Even better I had points, so essentially got this for free. As you can probably tell I am loving pastels for spring this year again, so put this on last week and wore it all week. The formula is really thick and difficult to work with. What makes it even worse is the skinny brush. Aaaargh. I ended up with so many streaks. Anyway, application aside the colour is stunning and the smell quite nice too. It doesn’t have a strong varnishey smell when you are painting it on and once it is dry it smells of sweet apples for a day or so. Remember not to wear a top coat though! My other niggle with this was the drying time. It was awful. I put this on in the evening and 2 hours later, it still wasn’t dry as I woke up with mega sheet marks. Oops. Wear time was pretty good; I got around 4 days before it chipped.

Overall I was pretty disappointed with this one, but I love the colour. If I hadn’t heard such rave reviews about Models Own, I wouldn’t purchase anything again but I know how hit and miss cream polish can be. You can purchase Models Own polishes for Β£5 from ModelsOwnIt.

Has anyone else tried Models Own? Did you have similar issues with the formula?

  1. What a pretty color! It reminds me of Essies new shade from their spring collection, looks really similar. Maybe a dupe?
